Russian and Japanese students took part in youth forum

Representatives of Russian and Japanese partner cities have taken part in the 1st youth forum. It was launched within the framework of the Plan of Russian-Japanese youth exchanges. The participants shared their experience of urban development and discussed their vision of cities of the future, the International Youth Cooperation website writes.

Six teams took part in the forum. Russia was represented by students, city officials and youth activists from St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Vladivostok and other cities and regions.

Denis Ashirov, head of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, underlined the importance of developing a dialogue between the youth of Russia and Japan.

The representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry responsible for Japanese-Russian exchanges, Wataru Ishikawa, said that the forum would have a positive impact on mutual understanding between the two countries, and would help build new areas of cooperation.

The program included reports on various topics, including urban development, culture, environment, work with children and youth. Participants tried to create their image of the city of the future.
