The presentation of Jean-Pierre Arrignon's book "My History of Russia" (Une histoire de la Russie) took place yesterday in Paris, TASS reports. The book proves to be one of the largest studies devoted to Russia by the late scientist. He passed away six months ago.

The book was presented at a conference in the French capital. According to the organizers, the author devoted more than 50 years to the study of Russian history. The book presents events covering a thousand-year period of history: from the resettlement of the Eastern Slavs to the East European Plain to the present day.

The forum participants noted that Professor Arrignon wanted to help the West better understand Russia. He had no doubt that Russian history should be viewed not only from a political or economic point of view. Social events and culture should be also taken into account. The scientist noted the important role of Orthodoxy in Russian history.

Jean-Pierre Arrignon supported the rapprochement between France and Russia. He was convinced that the best period for relations between the two countries was yet to come.
