Special economic zone in Kaliningrad region entered top 10 of world ranking

The special economic zone (SEZ) in the Kaliningrad region has entered the top 10 of the Global Free Zones of the Year rating, published by FDi Magazine (part of The Financial Times.) Three more Russian SEZs are also highlighted in the ranking, TASS reports.

Kaliningrad's SEZ took the 8th place of the ranking. The Technopolis Moscow was featured in the ranking for the development of medical and pharmaceutical technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tatarstan's Innopolis was highly praised by experts for unmanned technologies, the Dubna in the Moscow region - for confronting the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, 144 foreign companies are now working in Russian SEZs.

The top 10 of the ranking includes SEZs located in China, Poland, Great Britain and other countries. The first place went to the SEZ in Dubai.
