Naples hosts festival of Russian culture

The festival of Russian culture started on Sunday, October 10, in Naples, RIA Novosti reports. It is included in the program of the Cultural Mission in Italy project. Its sites will open in several cities in the region. 

Famous opera singers and dance troups are going to perform during the festival, including the Mari El dance ensemble, as well as the soloists of the Mariinsky Theater Maria Bayankina and Irina Shishkova.

Karen Shakhnazarov, a renowned Russian director and head of the Mosfilm film studio, was awarded the Sun of Naples badge during the opening ceremony. He was noted for his contribution to the development of world art.

The program also includes a series of film screenings. Works by Karen Shakhnazarov, as well as films by Egor Konchalovsky, Konstantin Khudyakov and other Russian filmmakers will be shown during the forum.
