Russian film competes for main award of Warsaw Film Festival

The Yakut film Yt has been included in the main international competition of the Warsaw Film Festival. In total, 15 films from different countries will compete for the victory. Eight Russian films are taking part in various programs of the festival, TASS reports.

The Off-Season by Alexander Hunt competes for the best directorial debut. Unclenching the Fists by Kira Kovalenko is included in the short films category.

The # Iwanttoplay by Anna Zaitseva has been selected for the Free Spirit competition program. The Russian program in Warsaw will open with The Captain Volkogonov Escaped by Russian directors Natasha Merkulova and Alexei Chupov.

The Warsaw Film Festival has been held for more than 35 years, getting the first, A category in 2009. The winners will be announced on October 17.
