Finland has started accepting applications for grants from the Jubilee Fund (Juhlarahaston) for the study, teaching and research of the Russian language, Yle.fi reports.

The total sum of grant support has been increased by 50,000 euros and now amounts to 250,000 euros.

The head of the Cultura Foundation Pekko Kohonen (manages the Jubilee Foundation) noted that the increased amount of grant support would help implement larger projects and attract  researchers to the ptoject.

The applications to participate in the grant competition are accepted until November 6. The website of the Cultura Foundation notes that knowledge of the Russian language provides new career opportunities and expands the worldview.
