Russian Seasons Festival launched in Seoul

The Russian Seasons Festival launched in South Korea on Saturday, October 2, the Ministry of Culture facebook states.

Moscow Soloists chamber ensemble under Yuri Bashmet performed at the opening concert in Seoul. Together with Russian musicians, the pianist and organist Cho Jae Hyuk featured as well.

As part of a large-scale cultural project, the Moscow Soloists' tour to cover five South Korean cities.

Following the tradition, the host country will receive the firebird statue, the symbol of the Russian Seasons. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Russian government.

As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, the large-scale program includes drama theater and ballet performances, art exhibitions. The Eifman Ballet Theater, the Mariinsky Theater, the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, The Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra are among participants.

The event is timed to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and South Korea.
