Russian films awarded in Spain and Italy

Russian films have won awards at international film festivals in Spain and Italy. The drama Milk Girl by Lena Lanskikh received the main prize of the New Directors competition program of the festival in San Sebastian, while Batya (Dad) was awarded a special jury diploma at the festival in Milan, TASS reports.

Batya has collected over $6,9 million in the box office. The leading role was played by Russian star actor Vladimir Vdovichenkov. The film tells about a man's journey to his dad. Meanwhile, the Milk Girl drama tells about a 14-year-old girl who lives in extremely poor conditions and hides from others since she has become a mother. The film was produced with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
