Russian poetry evening held in London

The famous Russian poetess Vera Polozkova had a joint concert in London with composer Alexander Manotskov, opening the season of charitable events for the 10th anniversary of the Gift of Life Foundation, which helps children overcome cancer.

$17,800, collected during the concert, will be spent on the purchase of medicine for a young resident of Chita suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Over the ten years of its existence, Gift of Life has helped more than 500 young patients in Russian hospitals with severe diagnoses.

The organization was established in the UK to help the Russian Podari Zhizn Foundation buy medicines that are not registered in Russia. Over 250 lovers of Russian poetry, prominent representatives of the Russian community in London took part in the concert.
