Russian athletes win gold in artistic gymnastics and taekwondo

Russian gymnasts Lilia Akhaimova, Victoria Listunova, Angelina Melnikova and Vladislava Urazova became the winners at the women’s gymnastics team event at the Tokyo Olympics, TASS reports. Their result exceeded 169 points.The American team won silver medals, the British athletes came third. 

It is the 1st time Russian women’s gymnastics team win the team event at the Olympic Games. 
 
Earlier, Russian gymnasts Denis Ablyazin, David Belyavsky, Artur Dalaloyan and Nikita Nagorny won the men’s artistic gymnastics team event. The team gained 262.500 points, leaving behind the Japanese team. The Chinese athletes got bronze medals. 

Another gold was brought to Russia by Vladislav Larin in taekwondo. He defeated Dejan Georgievski from North Macedonia, becoming the best in the over 80 kg weight category. The bronze was awarded to Rafael Alba from Cuba and In Kyo Tong from South Korea.
