Indians name Dostoevsky the greatest literary psychologist in the world

The role of Crime and Punishment writer in the world literature and Indian translations were discussed by the participants of the Fyodor Dostoevsky in the Malayalam Language 3d seminar, timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Dostoevsky, the representative office of Russian Center For Science And Culture in Trivandrum wrote on it's Facebook page.

The seminar was attended by the Honorary Consul of Russia and Director of the Russian House in Trivandrum Ratheesh C. Nair. Indian writer and critic Vesolli Varghese opened the seminar. He named Dostoevsky one of the “greatest writers and literary psychologists in the world.” The critic noted that the writer's works played an important role in the realistic fiction development  in world literature. Some important Indian translators who work with Dostoevsky's texts, were presented to the seminar participants.

Let us remember that Fyodor Dostoevsky's festival in India was launched in March. Festival events will run until the end of the year. Meanwhile literary seminars bring together writers, educators and students that discuss the Malayalam translations of Dostoevsky and  profound influence his prose upon the world literature.
