The festival of Russian culture begins on Saturday, July 24, in Damascus, according to the Big Asia website. The organizer is the Moscow government.

A delegation from the Moscow Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations has arrived in Syria. The guests brought humanitarian aid with them. It is intended for young residents of Damascus who study at a school with an in-depth study of the Russian language. The students will receive Russian language textbooks, works by Russian classics and contemporary authors, as well as stationery. Humanitarian aid is allocated within the framework of the program to support compatriots and popularize the Russian language abroad.

The festival program includes a round table. Its participants will discuss the promotion of Russian culture and the popularization of the study of the Russian language. Representatives of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and Russian compatriots will join the discussion.

The working trip of the Russian delegation to Syria is organized for the development of cooperation between the two countries. It is also aimed at helping Russian compatriots living in the country to improve their Russian language proficiency.
