The Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the European organization for nuclear research CERN have signed an agreement on the maintenance of the Large Hadron Collider. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and the head of CERN Fabiola Gianotti within the framework of the 43rd meeting of the Russia-CERN Committee, TASS reports.

The agreement indicates that Russia will contribute to the maintenance and operation of the collider detectors. The document indicates that Russia will allocate funds for these needs every year. All CERN member countries contribute money for these purposes.

The ministry explained that the agreement will help further develop cooperation between Russian scientists and the organization, and ultimately will contribute to Russia's breakthrough in the field of high technologies.

The Minister explained that thanks to the interaction between Russia and CERN, Russian scientists are able to work with advanced equipment and the most modern developments in world science.
