The Orthodox divine service was organized for the 1st time in the Cayman Islands, Interfax reports. It was headed by Nikolai Evseev, a cleric of the Sourozh diocese.

The Divine Liturgy took place at the Breakers public hall, which is located in the city of Bodden Town, the former capital of the Cayman Islands. Members of the Russian-speaking diaspora who live on the island became the participants in the service. Father Nikolai finished the service with a sermon dedicated to the Sunday Gospel reading.

The Cayman Islands is an Overseas Self-Governing Territory of Great Britain in the Caribbean. Its population exceeds 70,000 people, representing about 130 different peoples and nationalities. There are also Orthodox believers among the inhabitants of the Cayman Islands.
