Czech President Milos Zeman is sure that the leaders of European countries should meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.

Last week, the leaders of the EU countries talked about Russia until late at night, but in the end refused to support the proposal of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron to hold a summit between the Russian Federation and the European Union.

The decision of Europe to abandon the summit with Russia is regrettable, the Kremlin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov is sure.

Milos Zeman  also noted that he still believes that there are more than one versions of explosions at weapons depots in Vrbetice, and all of them should be properly investigated.

Relations between Russia and the Czech Republic deteriorated when the Czech authorities accused Russia of the involvement in the blasts at munitions depots in the village of Vrbetice in 2014. 18 Russian diplomats were expelled from the country. In return, Russia declared 20 employees of the Czech embassy in Moscow personae non gratae.
