The cross year of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Egypt started the day before, June 17. The opening ceremony took place in Cairo, according to the website of the Ministry of Culture.

This year's program includes more than 100 different cultural, educational and sport events.

According to the Russian deputy minsiter of culture, Olga Yarilova, Russia and Egypt have the broadest opportunities for deepening cooperation in the cultural sphere. She has no doubt that the first thematic year in the history of bilateral relations will lay a solid foundation for the development of cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Egypt Mahmoud Talaa states that cooperation in the humanitarian sphere is of great importance. Both sides agree that partners from Russia and Egypt will be able to start cooperating more actively with each other. In turn, joint projects in the humanitarian sphere will help bring the peoples of the two countries closer together.
