The American and Russian ambassadors will return to their jobs in the near future, RIA Novosti reports. This decision was made during the summit of the leaders of the two countries. The meeting between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden took place the day before, on June 16, in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, the exact dates have not been determined yet, but this remains a "purely technical issue." The Russian Foreign Ministry promised that the ambassador would fly to Washington in the next two weeks. Earlier, Anatoly Antonov and US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan returned in their countries for consultations.

Antonov noted that there is a lot to be done, and all steps must be carefully considered. There are many issues between Moscow and Washington that need to be resolved, the diplomat emphasized.
