The first meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with American President Joe Biden took place the day before, June 16. In Geneva, Switzerland, the heads of the two powers discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation. Both presidents highly appreciated the results of the summit, TASS reports.

The negotiations lasted for more than three hours, as a result, the heads of state promised to soon start a discussion on strategic stability.

The Russian leader stressed that bilateral relations began to deteriorate at the US's initiative. Biden reiterated his support for "stable and predictable" relations between Moscow and Washington, stating that there were "genuine prospects" for the latter at the end of the summit.

Russia and the United States will hold meeting on cybersecurity. ''In my opinion, this is extremely important'' Putin stressed. Experts from the two countries will analyze specific cases. Biden brought up the topic of human rights and ''people who think they represent these issues in Russia,'' Putin said. The leaders also discussed the prisoner exchange.

Putin and Biden agreed to promote the implementation of the Minsk agreements. As the Russian president noted, this is Moscow's only commitment on the issue of Ukraine.

According to Putin, it is still difficult to say whether supporters or opponents of the development of relations with Russia will prevail in the United States. In turn, Biden believes that it will take at least six months to figure out whether the countries managed to reach an understanding.
