Central African authorities confirmed death of 3 Russians

Russian diplomats in the Central African Republic (CAR) are checking reports that, possibly, 3 Russian citizens died in one of the regions of the African state, TASS reports. According to RIA Novosti, the CAR authorities notified the Russian embassy about the deaths of three Russians.

Prior to this, the media wrote that the Russians and local police officers were the victims of the explosion. An improvised explosive device went off, which was installed in the path of the convoy of army equipment. The column moved along the road between the cities of Berberati and Bouar. Journalists, citing official sources, note that the explosion occurred at a distance of 400 kilometers from the capital of the CAR - the city of Bangui.

Other media reported that an army convoy was moving to the base when a mine went off near the village of Bondiba. As a result of the explosion, 5 were killed and 4 were wounded of varying severity.

The victims were taken to the hospital, their identities are not revealed.
