The number of participants in the state program to promote the voluntary resettlement of compatriots to Russia has reached a million. Alexander Safronov, a native of the Kazakh city of Aktobe, became the millionth in a row, according to the website of the Moscow House of Compatriot.

The young man came to Orenburg for medical education. He submitted documents for participation in the program in April, having contacted the Russian Consulate General in Uralsk. A few days ago, he received the certificate of the participant from the hands of the head of the Main Directorate for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Lieutenant General Valentina Kazakova. The ceremony took place in Orenburg.

Now Alexander is graduating from the local medical university, while working in the "red zone" of the regional infectious diseases hospital. Parents, together with the elder brother of Alexander Safronov, are also going to move to Orenburg as family members of the state program participant.

The program has been operating for more than 10 years, more than 80 Russian regions have joined it.
