Russians in Germany congratulated veterans

Events dedicated to the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War were held in the cities of Cologne, Hanover and Bavaria. Representatives of organizations of Russian compatriots, Cossacks took an active part in them.

In Cologne, a rally and a concert took place on a local square, according to the Russkoe Pole newspaper. Residents came to the square with portraits of their relatives at war, the Consul General of Russia in Bonn Alexey Dronov and veterans of the Great Patriotic War addressed the audience. There was also a festive concert organized by Russian compatriots.

In Hanover and other cities of Lower Saxony, prayers were held in honor of the fallen in the fields of war and the laying of flowers at the memorials erected on the site of the former concentration camps. The events were organized by local Cossacks and Orthodox clergy.

In Bavaria, veterans were congratulated on Victory Day, the front-line soldiers received postcards made by children. There was also an online children's concert organized at the initiative of the Coordination Council of organizations of Russian compatriots in Bavaria.

Children and adolescents who visit studios and centers affiliated with organizations of Russian compatriots read poems to veterans and prepared stories about hero cities.
