Victory Day was celebrated by Russian compatriots living in different cities of Germany, the Russkoe Pole reports. Traditionally, the most massive actions took place in the capital of the country. Many people came to pay their debt to the memorial in Treptower Park. A minute of silence in honor of the fallen heroes in the Tiergarten was joined by veterans, locals, compatriots, the elderly and young people.

In Mainz, public figures, politicians and compatriots also honored the memory of the fallen Soviet soldiers by laying flowers at a military burial.

The Immortal Regiment procession was organized in Frankfurt am Main. People walked along the city streets holding portraits of their ancestors who took part in the Great Patriotic War. They also carried red flags of Victory and Russian tricolors.

In Saarbrücken, along with the Red Army soldiers, they also remembered the American soldiers who liberated these places. The participants recited poems about the war. After the rally, people went to the burial place of prisoners of war and civilian Soviet citizens to lay wreaths on the graves.

Commemorative events in Magdeburg took place on 8 and 9 May. Members of the public, politicians and Russian compatriots laid flowers at the memorials, honoring the memory of those who fell in World War II and the feat of the Soviet soldier-liberator.
