Russians abroad celebrated Victory Day with concerts and festivals

Virtual and face-to-face concerts and festivals dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War were held in the USA, Argentina, Greece, Turkey, Austria and other countries. Famous military songs were performed by Russian natives of different ages at the events in virtual and face-to-face formats.

An online concert was held in the United States, which brought together performers from different states, TASS reports. Russian compatriots congratulated the audience on Victory Day and sang songs "Eh, Roads", "In the Dugout", "Katyusha", "Dark Night" and others written during and after the war.

In Austria, Russians were able to meet and sing together songs about the war within the framework of the 6th festival "Choral Vienna", which was held with the support of the Russkiy Mir foundation at the monument to the Liberator Soldier in the Austrian capital. The concert was attended by children and adults from Russian, Bulgarian, Serbian educational institutions and creative teams.

In Istanbul, Victory Day was celebrated with an open online lesson with the support of the Zvezdochka Russian Language Center. 40 children and their mothers took part in the holiday. Children read poems and sang songs, they honored the memory of the participants of the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence.

On Victory Day, the Russian Center in Thessaloniki launched the Katyusha online military song festival, which will last until May 15. More than80 performers from the USA, Germany, Greece, Israel, Ukraine and other countries will take part in it.
