For three days, the online marathon continued, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the first manned flight into space. The program included virtual tours of museums and observatories, a quiz and other events. The online marathon was held by the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Jordan and the Synergy of Talents Movement from Rostov-on-Don, according to the council's page in Jordan on Facebook. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Peace in the Dialogue of Cultures international educational foresight initiative.
Internet users were able to visit the Moscow Dog Museum and the Astronomical Observatory, as well as the Novocherkassk training center. The Rocket to Mars quiz turned out to be very informative. It includes a variety of questions related to the Red Planet.
On the 2nd day of the marathon, the participants were congratulated by children's art groups from Rostov-on-Don. All together, they sent greeting cards to the cosmonauts, made an exciting excursion to the astronomical observatory.
The next day, the participants had an excursion to the house-museum of the veteran of the Baikonur cosmodrome, Colonel of the Armed Forces Alexander Negodaev. It contains personal belongings of cosmonauts and spacecraft construction engineers, their photos and autographs, interesting stories from life and work at the cosmodrome.
According to the organizers, this event, dedicated to the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight, does not end there. In the future, competitions, conferences and quizzes are planned.
