Putin approves key members of Russkiy Mir Foundation

Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the composition of the Board of Trustees, Supervisory Board and Board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. He signed the corresponding decree the day before, on April 12. 

It is indicated that the supervisory body of the foundation is the board of trustees. Its head, deputies and members are appointed by the President.

The supreme collegial body of the foundation is the supervisory board. Its responsibilities include determining the priority areas of the fund's activities. The chairman and members of the council are appointed by the President.

The board of the foundation, which is a collegial executive body, manages the current activities, its members are also determined by the head of state.

Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, is appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov is appointed as his Deputy. The Board of Trustees also includes Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova and Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov.

Vladimir Tolstoy, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation for Culture, became the Chairman of the Fund's Supervisory Board. The supervisory board includes rector of the Gorky Literary Institute Alexei Varlamov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Academy of Education Olga Vasilyeva, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Vershinin, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Rector of St. Petersburg State University Nikolai Kropachev, Head of the Presidential Administration for Interregional and Cultural relations with foreign countries Igor Maslov, and others.

Vyacheslav Nikonov, head of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, became the chairman of the fund's board.
