The 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight into space is celebrated on April, 12 in Russia and worldwide. A vibrant festive program: exhibitions, master classes, film screenings, lectures, performances and much more is prepared in Moscow, the Moskovskiy Komsomolets newspaper reports.

In 2021, the Museum of Cosmonautics becomes the main venue for celebrations. The institution is also celebrating its anniversary this year - on April 10 it turns 40.

The central platform for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the First Man's flight into space will be the First Exhibition, which opened at the Museum of Cosmonautics the day before.Gagarin's documents and personal belongings, rare items related to the first cosmonaut and the period of his studies will be presented to the visitors. The exhibition also tells about the main stages in the history of Russian cosmonautics and what the flight of man into space meant for the whole world. Young visitors to the exhibition will be able to learn about its main exhibits with the help of a children's audio guide.

In addition, the Moscow Planetarium will broadcast the speech of the cosmonauts of the Roscosmos detachment, Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, directly from the space station.

Festive events will be held in the city center and parks.

Last year, the Cosmonautics Day was celebrated online due to the pandemic restrictions.
