Argentine President Alberto Fernandez expressed gratitude to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for the delivery of Sputnik V vaccine, TASS reports. Their conversation took place the day before, on April 5.

Putin called Buenos Aires after it became known that Fernandez had contracted the coronavirus infection. Previously, he was vaccinated with the Russian drug. According to the press service of the Argentine leader, Vladimir Putin "called to inquire about the state of health of Fernandez."

During the telephone conversation, the President of Argentina asked the Russian leader to supply the vaccine on a regular basis. Alberto Fernandez once again noted that vaccination with the Russian drug continues, it has excellent results and there are no serious complications. The head of Argentina said that he was diagnosed with the coronavirus three days ago. He later stated that he felt good, that his condition would have been much worse if he had not been vaccinated.

Argentina began vaccination against the coronavirus late last year. The vaccine was delivered to all regions of the Latin American country.

Alberto Fernandez was vaccinated in January. He thanked the creators of the vaccine and everyone who brought the drug to the country. He also thanked Argentine medics for their dedicated work. Alberto Fernandez recalled that the Russian vaccine would protect people from the pandemic. He appealed to the people of the country to follow his example.
