The United Communities of Canada organization will hold events for Russian compatriots dedicated to the celebration of Maslenitsa. The events will take place online from 8 to 14 March, according to the organizers' YouTube channel.

The representative of the United Communities of Canada, Yuri Nachetoi, spoke about how the celebration will be organized in a virtual format, since the coronavirus pandemic will not allow Russian compatriots, as in previous years, to hold large-scale festivals and celebrations in the Russian style.

On holidays, to create a mood, videos of last year's celebrations will be posted, as well as new videos recorded by Russian compatriots. “A must-have part of any festival is the opportunity to meet new people, to get to know each other, to communicate,” said Yuri Nachetoi. “There will be such an opportunity in the online format, since the broadcast will be live.”
