Compatriots in Ankara celebrated Maslenitsa

More than 900 people took part in the Maslenitsa celebration in Ankara. The event attracted the attention of not only Russian compatriots living in Turkey, but also foreigners. It is noted that Maslenitsa has become an important event for the rapprochement of Russian-speaking residents of the Turkish capital.

The guests of the holiday were greeted by a matryoshka in colorful clothes. The program included a fair, a concert with performances by professional musicians and choreographic numbers, as well as folk festivities in the Russian style.

The organizers paid close attention to Pancake week treats, the guests were treated with pancakes and bagels. Everyone could buy Russian dolls and paintings, listen to and perform ditties, join the dancers. An important part of the event was an exhibition of paintings and drawings by young artists.

The Maslenitsa celebration was organized by the Russian Embassy in Turkey, the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Turkey, the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots in Turkey, the Russian Cultural Information Center and the Ankara Fair.
