Nearly 40 Russian companies will take part in the European Film Market (EFM), which will be held from March 1 to 5 as part of the Berlin International Film Festival. More than 140 feature films, serials, cartoons and TV shows created in Russia will be presented to the world's leading promoters, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper reports.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, a record number of Russian projects were presented at the Berlinale, of which over 25 are new.

The distributors will be shown both new features and films that have already hit the Russian screens. In particular, there will be presentations of the film "World Champion" dedicated to the match for the chess crown between Anatoly Karpov and Viktor Korchnoi, and the  "December" about Sergei Yesenin and Isadora Duncan.

The war dramas "Pilot", "Zoya" and "V-2: Escape from Hell", films about the exploits of Russian firefighters ("Fire" and "Chernobyl"), as well as a biographical film about the outstanding Russian skier Elena Vyalba will go to the film market.

Russian content on the film market will be presented under the Roskino brand. The program of the large-scale film forum will also include a presentation dedicated to the production of joint products with Russia.

The Berlin Film Festival will be held online, with a number of sections featuring Russian films, animation and filmmakers.
