French director's film about Battle of Stalingrad screened in Paris

The screening of the Volga Chronicle, which tells about the course of the Battle of Stalingrad, took place the day before, on February 23, on the website of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Paris, TASS reports.

The director became the author of the script, which is based on the diary entries of one of his relatives. The film is supplemented with chronicles of the battle for Stalingrad.

A year and a half ago, the director visited Volgograd, which allowed him to bring his observations and reflections to the tape.

For the first time, the picture was going to be shown in one of the Parisian cinemas at the beginning of the year. The unfavorable epidemiological situation forced the premiere to be postponed to a later date. Now the authors hope that the film will be shown in the summer, and viewers will be interested in the history of the Second World War.

The pre-premiere screening in online format gathered an impressive audience.

According to Didier Feldman, his work is a tribute to the memory of the heroic Soviet people who withstood the onslaught of enemies who were going to destroy their country. He recalled that today in the West, attempts are continuing to rewrite history, regardless of the feat of the Soviet people, who made innumerable sacrifices for the sake of victory.

Last autumn, the film of the French filmmaker was awarded the Grand Prix of the tenth International Television Festival "Eternal Flame" in Volgograd.
