Performers from different countries participate in international competition in Moscow

The DanceMoscow choreographic competition starts on Thursday, February 18. It unites young dancers, TASS reports. Among its participants are pupils and students of choreographic schools and colleges, dance studios and art schools. Members of professional and amateur creative teams are fighting for the victory.

The competition is being held for the 7th time. All these years, the Kobzon Institute of Theatrical Art and the Kobzon Cultural Foundation organized the competition.

According to the organizers, they received more than 700 applications. Young dancers from Russia, Great Britain, Japan, Canada, Australia will perform at the competition. BRICS countries are widely represented.

The winners will be determined in three nominations, three age categories and three dance styles. The jury includes famous ballet dancers Marina Leonova and Gediminas Taranda, rector of the Institute of Theater Arts Dmitry Tomilin and others. The place of the honorary chairman is taken by Nelly Kobzon.

According to Dmitry Tomilin, the competition over the years of its existence has become a significant event in cultural life. It allows talented artists to go international. The competition has great respect for the traditions of classical ballet and the values ​​of folk dance. At the same time, an important place is given to contemporary dance.
