The Russian capital of the 20th century became the main theme of the works of the artist Alexei Mikulin. For several years, models of Moscow buildings and even entire streets have come out from under his hands. The artist himself says that he does not pretend to be completely historical. The main thing for him is to convey the atmosphere of that time.

For the manufacture of neighborhoods of houses and Muscovites, Alexey Mikulin uses a rather unusual material - plasticine. The artist is sure that the possibilities of plasticine are underestimated. In fact, it has great potential.

The artist received an engineering degree, he sculpted from plasticine only in his distant childhood. He returned to him again after forty years, when he began to play with his children. Then the possibilities of material familiar from childhood opened up to him.

Mikulin has already created more than 80 works from plasticine. Most often, he sculpts old Moscow. Users of social networks like the interiors of communal apartments in his performance.

Alexei Mikulin's plasticine nostalgia finds a response: the artist participates in exhibitions, and his works collect thousands of likes on social networks.
