Almost 2,000 works of art will be presented in a new online project prepared by the Tretyakov Gallery, RIAMO reports.

According to the director of the museum, Zelfira Tregulova, My Tretyakov Gallery is a very large-scale project, its preparation began four years ago. Tht selection of the masterpieces from the museum's collections will be much broader than on the current website of the Tretyakov Gallery.

The images of the paintings are supplemented by a story about how these works of art were created. Museum staff and curators acted as authors.

The project is being implemented in Russian, but one of the key areas of its work is the popularization of Russian art abroad. Zelfira Tregulova promised that an English version would appear by the end of the year.

She also added that the online audience of the Tretyakov Gallery this year has grown to ten million users, and the number of viewers on the YouTube channel has exceeded five million.
