Pakistani authorities have approved the emergency use of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, RIA Novosti reports. The local pharmaceutical firm AGP has also received permission to import and distribute the drug. It will be the sole importer and distributor of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection.

The drug is already the third approved for use in Pakistan.

In Venezuela, during the study of the Sputnik V vaccine, experts did not record any serious side effects. According to experts, sometimes volunteers complain of headaches or pain at the place of injection. No negative consequences have been identified. Doctors believe that the situation in Venezuela is no different from the situation in other countries where mass vaccination with the Russian drug began - Russia and Argentina.

In Venezuela, 300 volunteers took part in the experiment. Caracas signed a contract with Russia for the purchase of Sputnik V. Venezuela expects to receive the first batch of 10 million doses soon to start mass vaccinations immediately.
