The Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection will begin to be produced in Venezuela, RIA Novosti reports. The corresponding agreement was concluded by the country's authorities and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). According to Venezuelan Vice President Delsi Rodriguez, this issue was discussed online with the head of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev.
The drug will begin production in Venezuela in the first quarter of this year.
The Russian coronavirus vaccine was registered in the country under an accelerated procedure. The drug trials started in Venezuela in the fall. It is planned that the first vaccinations will be given to doctors and teachers. The elderly and those with chronic diseases are also on the priority list. Venezuela became the first non-CIS country to test the Russian drug.
