Sputnik V has been registered in Paraguay, RIA Novosti reports. The Russian coronavirus vaccine was registered under an accelerated procedure, without additional clinical trials in the country. The drug will be supplied by international partners of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) from India, China, South Korea and other countries.

According to Kirill Dmitriev, head of the fund, the registration of the vaccine in Paraguay once again proves how high the interest in the Russian vaccine is in Latin American countries. He noted that Russia is ready to expand partnership to jointly fight the pandemic.

Earlier, Sputnik V was previously registered in Argentina, Venezuela, Serbia, Algeria and some other countries.

The second batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will be delivered to Argentina tomorrow, January 16. It will amount to three hundred thousand doses of the second component of the drug. The country began vaccination against coronavirus on December 29.
