It is time to start mass vaccination of residents of Russia against coronavirus infection next week, says Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of state discussed this issue with members of the government at a meeting that took place on Wednesday, January 13, RIA Novosti reports.

He urged to start preparing the appropriate infrastructure, adding that the drug did not require any special conditions for transportation. Fortunately, Vladimir Putin noted, “everything works much easier and more efficiently with us”.

According to the head of state, it is required to build a schedule, as is done when vaccinating against other diseases, such as influenza.

The President expressed confidence that the Russian vaccine Sputnik V is the best in the world. But he clarified that it was required to figure out how the drug would act in the conditions of the existence of many strains.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, in turn, added that starting Monday, it is possible to switch to a wider vaccination of the country's population.
