Argentina sends plane to Russia for 2nd batch of Sputnik V

The 2nd batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will be delivered to Argentina. The plane took off the day before, on January 14, TASS reports. Aerolineas Argentinas is heading for Moscow. According to the airline, the plane is "on its way to Russia to fight COVID-19."

The 2nd batch of Sputnik V will amount to 300,000 doses of the 2nd component of the drug. It is planned that the plane will take return on Friday, January 15. The return to the South American country is scheduled for tomorrow, January 16.

Earlier, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), promised that production of Sputnik V would begin in Argentina no later than the second quarter of the coming year. The country has already started vaccination against coronavirus. It began on December 29.
