The Friendship Train project will connect volunteer organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region, which initiated the project, and volunteers from European countries. The project involves laying a route through the twin cities of Nizhny Novgorod and the region for organizing meetings, exchanging experiences and holding events related to spreading the truth about the Great Patriotic War and its heroes, the Nizhegorodskie Novosti newspaper reports.

Issues related to the project were discussed during an online meeting of representatives of the authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the local linguistic university (NGLU) with the head of the Victory Volunteers organization Maria Samodelkina.

As part of the project, volunteers of the region can go to the twin cities of Nizhny Novgorod and the region to hold meetings and exchange experiences with colleagues. The organizers hope that they will join the actions in the cities of Germany, France, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the pandemic, Nizhny Novgorod volunteers conduct online events to develop cooperation with volunteers from different countries. NSLU plans to hold an online conference with the participation of volunteers from Finland, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and other countries.
