More than 2,000 foreigners studied Russian at Plekhanov University courses

Over 2,000 foreigners took part in free distance learning courses of the Russian language, organized by the Plekhanov Russian Economic University with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education. Classes lasted for a month. 

Participants could choose one of five levels of proficiency in Russian as a foreign language. In addition, the classes were divided into topics, students could learn vocabulary about public transport, outdoor activities, and so on.

In total, one hundred courses were offered, aimed at students with different knowledge and interests. Participants could learn phrases and words necessary to make acquaintance and a short story about themselves, as well as get acquainted with the traditions and sights of Moscow.

It is reported that the trainees were taught by teachers with extensive experience. Participants of the courses were awarded certificates.
