The World Health Organization (WHO) praised the activities of Russian doctors in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection, TASS reports. This is stated in an article written by Hans Kluge, who heads the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and Melita Vujnovic, who represents the international organization in Russia. Their article is dedicated to the results of the past year.

Professionalism and dedication - this is how they described the actions of Russian doctors who are fighting the pandemic. Health workers in Russia have been at the forefront of the fight against the dangerous virus from the very beginning of the pandemic, WHO leaders write. They risked their health, endangered their lives, the authors of the article believe. According to the authors of the article, young people of the next generations can follow the example of Russian doctors in the performance of their professional duty.

Thousands of people have joined the volunteer movement in Russia. They helped those in need, provided psychological assistance. Volunteers delivered and even made personal protective equipment for doctors, brought food and medicine to the elderly, took care of animals whose owners were in the hospital, the WHO notes.
