Russian performers took stage in Palmyra

Russian performers in Syria were greeted with long applause. They entered the stage of the 2nd century AD amphitheater. e. on the territory of ancient ruins in Palmyra, the Vzglyad newspaper writes.

The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Black Sea Fleet congratulated the Syrian military and local residents on the New Year. According to the artistic director of the creative team Alexei Kostyanikov, they have already given six concerts in front of the Russian military, including the Khmeimim airbase, in the provinces of Homs and Deir ez-Zor, where the units of the Russian military police are located.

The ensemble performed songs by Vladimir Vysotsky, Muslim Magomayev, picked up a repertoire from patriotic and New Year's songs.

Many spectators came to the concert with their children. The parents said that they wanted to introduce them to Russian culture. 

The ensemble has several more performances in Syria ahead.
