The start of the system for issuing electronic visas depends on the epidemiological situation, the Russian Foreign Ministry notes. The department said that everything is ready for its launch in the country, TASS reports. Nevertheless, the Foreign Ministry noted, it is necessary to wait until the restrictions on entry into the country are lifted.

As of today, the Foreign Ministry reminded, the issuance of e-visas has been suspended.

E-visas can be obtained on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, specially created for this purpose. A mobile application has also been created for issuing an electronic visa. The document can be drawn up by citizens of foreign countries in order to enter Russia for up to 16 days. The visa can be obtained for a tourist trip, business or guest visit, as well as for travel for humanitarian purposes. Foreigners do not need to present any additional documents confirming the purpose of the trip. To obtain a visa, one needs to fill out an application form, upload a personal photo and a copy of their passport. The consular fee is $40. After payment, citizens of foreign countries will be sent a visa notification. The period of its registration will not exceed four days, the validity period will be two months.

When crossing the Russian border, a foreigner must present a printed electronic visa notice and a foreign passport.
