The United States is too dismissive of the Soviet Union's contribution to the victory over fascism, Oliver Stone is sure. According to the famous cinematographer, it is not clear why his compatriots have a negative attitude towards Russia. Oliver Stone recalled that "the Russians sacrificed themselves" to save the inhabitants of the United States, Great Britain and other European countries, RIA Novosti reports.

The three-time Oscar winner also said that he considers many Russian films dedicated to the Great Patriotic War wonderful. He is convinced that it is necessary to translate them into English. The director stressed that this would be of great benefit and help to understand how much pain and suffering the war has brought.

As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, Oliver Stone was recently vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Russian vaccine. He noted that he had heard more than once how experts highly evaluated the Sputnik V vaccine.

It is not clear, says Stone, for what reason Western authorities are trying to ignore the domestic vaccine. He called the United States insane because Washington considers Moscow and Beijing as enemies. These three countries could become excellent partners, the director is convinced. “We could build the future together - the problem is that not everyone understands this,” said Oliver Stone.
