Natalia Kupcha, president of the Russian House organization in Tunisia, together with her daughter and grandchildren, conducted a lesson entitled “To Russia with love” at the Rene Descartes school in Tunis. The schoolchildren learned about the history and traditions of Russia, tried on Russian national costumes, got acquainted with folk songs and tasted Russian pastries, the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Tunisia reports on its Facebook page.

The René Descartes School trains children from Tunisian and mixed families, as well as foreigners. A group of Russian compatriots brought a Russian flag, a lot of costumes, and Russian souvenirs to the class.

During the lesson, children learned about the history and geography of Russia, in particular, about the length of the country, space exploration, Russian ballet, outstanding cultural figures from Russia and much more. There was also a story about Soviet heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

A documentary film about Moscow was shown, an impromptu concert took place, at which "Kalinka", "Katyusha", "Smuglyanka" and other Russian songs were performed. As part of the lesson, the students were treated to pancakes and a loaf of bread.
