Students from 17 countries join Winter History School

Foreign students have become listeners to the International Winter Historical School, the Pobeda RF website reports. It started on December 15 at the site of the Bulgarian Museum-Reserve. 

Among the participants there are fifty representatives of 16 countries. More than 1,000 Russian students have joined them. They discuss the importance of memory retention in the younger generation.

Participants learn more about the crimes of the Nazis in the occupied territories of the Soviet republics and the partisan movement, the largest uprisings of prisoners in death camps, Nazi occupation policy. Experts will acquaint them with an overview of the situation that developed in European countries on the eve of the outbreak of World War II, and other historical facts.

In total, the school program includes 16 webinars from Russian and foreign experts.

International history schools for young scientists will be held in Russia every year. The corresponding instruction was given by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin after a meeting with members of the Public Chamber. The government, the Public Chamber and the Russian Historical Society (RHS) are tasked to ensure its implementation. It is planned that the schools will be held in summer and winter, among the participants will be young teachers and scientists.

In addition, it was instructed to ensure the implementation of projects in the humanitarian and educational spheres aimed at preserving historical memory and countering the falsification of history.
