Russian language specialists in Beijing told about methods of studying history

On December 11, 2020, at the invitation of the head of the Russian Center of Peking University of Foreign Languages, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University, Feng Yujun, made a report entitled "Sino-Russian relations and methods of researching issues of the USSR and Russia." The event was attended by 50 students of Russian studies, as well as teachers of the Institute of Russian Language. In addition, over 1000 Chinese listeners have joined online.

The professor began his report with a story about the history of Sino-Russian relations. He stressed that Sino-Russian relations had stood the test of time and reached an unprecedented level. Then he shared with the audience the methods of scientific research of questions about the USSR and Russia. Feng Yujun noted that interdisciplinary and comparative research methods are very useful for studying Russia and Sino-Russian relations, and advised students to read more books to broaden their horizons.

Professor Feng has been researching Russia's geopolitical role, international energy security and Russian diplomacy for a long time. He has published over 100 papers in renowned scientific journals at home and abroad. The report aroused great interest among Chinese Russian language specialists. The listeners asked questions about specific problems in the field of Russian studies.
