The unveiling of a memorial sign dedicated to the memory of Soviet prisoners of war took place in Bremen. The initiative to install the sign came from the Denkorte Neustadt ("Memorable places of Neustadt") association, district administrations and municipal councils of several districts of the city. At the ceremony, the initiators noted the importance of preserving the memory of the victims of terror and studying these events in local schools, the Russian Consulate General in Hamburg reports on Facebook.

The sign, which immortalized the memory of the captured Red Army soldiers from the labor camps in Bremen, is made in the form of an information board. The participants in the ceremony spoke about the need to bring the truth about the fascist terror into the curriculum of schoolchildren. They also noted the importance of establishing equal and mutually beneficial communication between Germany and Russia.

At the ceremony, it was noted that the catastrophe of World War II was caused by indifference to the threats posed by the growing right-wing groups.
