50 copies of the Memories of Veterans book, donated by the Canadian Association of World War II Veterans from the USSR, will be distributed among the war veterans and the siege survivors living in Canada, the press service of organizations of Russian compatriots of Canada reported.

The residents of the Canadian province of British Columbia, the Great Patriotic War veteran Viktor Perchuk and Elena Fuchs, who survived the siege of Leningrad, were among the first to receive the books. Lilia Timoshkina, the coordinator of the Immortal Regiment project in Vancouver, presented them with the books about the feat of the Soviet people during the war, and the commemorative medals from the Russian Embassy in Canada.

The book absorbed the testimonies of 103 war veterans from the USSR living in the Canadian province of Ontario. Memories have been collected over several years. Russian Ambassador to Canada Alexander Darchiev noted the importance of the book in preserving the truth about the war and the feat of the people of the USSR for living and future generations.
